We rented the microphone and two speakers package from Rock n Roll Rentals for our small indoor/outdoor wedding. The price was right and booking process was easy. The equipment was high quality and easy to use. No complaints there. The drop off window made things a little tricky for us because we had to wait until 11am to drop everything off, but would have liked to leave town earlier. Overall, good experience and we would recommend them to anyone needing speakers/microphones for their event.
Awesome place to rent audio equipment perfectly suited for any occasion. They also give great suggestions if you want them! All the associates are extremely helpful and friendly. The process is very streamlined and non-stressful.
If I can give -20 stars I would. The guy on the phone even yelled at me when I was asking my concerns and cut me off. He didn’t even knew how to answer my questions regarding my rental. It was my first time trying this company and thank god I didn’t use them. Im big on events and I know a lot of people on the music events industry and I’ll make sure to spread the word of how mediocre this company is. I would encourage you to not use this people for your rental need unless you want to have the worst experience in your life. And be careful the do have hidden fees they will charge when you return the equipment, somebody that used them told me about it.
Everyone is so darn nice!! They helped me rent equipment for my wedding and were so helpful when I needed an extension on my rentals. This is the place to go for any sound, dj, instrument, and party event rentals!!
I called in on my lunch break to inquire about a rental, did not have much time nor access to look up stuff online and wanted to talk to someone there that can assist. The person who answered told me that everything is online and his tone came off as abrasive and rude and when I asked if they could just help me since I didn't have the time nor resources to look it up online (additionally, mobile website was unresponsive), he put me on hold indefinitely (I hung up after 5+ minutes of holding). Left a very bad impression on me and I will not be recommending their services to anyone in the Austin EDM/DJ community.
It was super easy to rent gear, pick it up, and get it home.
I am currently renting a recording kit for my upcoming narration project. I was having serious user error issues and spent hours looking through YouTube and Google to figure out my problem.
I ended up calling Rock n Roll back, and spoke with Craig. He walked me through some troubleshooting and it turns out, the issue was easily fixed due to a mac setting on my computer.
The gear is working perfectly and I am ready to begin recording :)
Needless to say, this business "rocks" for music equipment, but it has video production and party equipment you can "roll" out as well.
I was pleasantly surprised during a recent rental trip to find out R&R Rentals has more than music equipment.
For video production, they carry the following equipment:
- Video cameras,
- Lighting
- Boom Poles w/ "Dead Cats"
- Shotgun and wireless microphones.
- Beachtek XLR boxes
- "C" stands / mic stands
- Digital Recorders
I was told they may be getting a Sound Devices MixPre Recorder/Mixer as well.
If you're just having a party, they have PA equipment, party lights and fog machines for rent as well.
They will walk you through using the equipment as well.
My experience has been their rental costs are very reasonable.
All that said, I highly recommend R&R Rentals for video, party and music equipment rentals. This business is an old Austin gem with a great staff.

The worst Experience I have had renting gear. I went to the store led by the positive reviews on here. However that was not my experience. I was told I would have to wait about 2 hours for someone to help me. I was also told to fill out an application and then I would be helped. I filled it out in 15 min. went inside to try to talk to someone and they escorted me out, saying it was not a public place. I mentioned if I could stay 5 min to cool down from the heat outside and I was told the same thing. Where has the customer service gone? ... After this I decided to look elsewhere and found guitar center instead, they were able to help immediately. They even went out of their way to make some new gear, rental gear for me. Save your self the trouble and go somewhere else. DO NOT RENT FROM ROCK N ROLL ROLL. ONLY THING THEY ROCK at is WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE
